Yelahanka is a locality in North of Bangalore and is governed by Bruhat Mahanagara Palike. In the 1970s, it was originally planned to be a satellite town of Bengaluru, but after the establishment of an International Airport, Yelahanka became an integral part of the city. Yelahanka is popular for Kere and Puttenhalli lakes. Puttenhalli Lake has been officially declared as a bird sanctuary and has around 50 species of birds. Yelahanka houses offices of some of the reputed corporates such as Federal-Mogul Goetze (India) Limited, ABB, Sri Pradhyumna Technologies, Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, Hobel Flexibles and Elecon Measurements have set up their offices in Yelahanka. Yelahanka is home to the largest facility of Mother Dairy in Karnataka and the Indian Air Force also has its base here.

Yelahanka Real Estate earlier comprise of houses built by Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) only but now many township projects have been launched here and are currently under-construction. Yelahanka is well-connected to other parts of Bangalore via a network of roads and the NH-7, a 6-lane dual carriage highway which also connects the locality with the International Airport. Buses run by BMTC (Metropolitan Transport Corporation) and KTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) serves the neighbourhood. State Highway 9 (Bangalore-Hindupur) also passes through Yelahanka and further bisects the suburb into Old Town and New Town. Rapid Transit Metro System is expected to connect Cubbon Park with International Airport with a station at Yelahanka.

Yelahanka is home to several educational institutions. Hospitals in the area include CRPF Hospital, Government Hospital, R Speciality Hospital, Prasad Hospital and Lakshmi Hospital. There are number of shopping complexes in Yelahanka like Kurlappa Shopping Complex at State Highway 104 and New Town Shopping Complex near Yelahanka road. Yelahanka Real Estate is witnessing high activity in residential segment. With the development of IT parks and business parks in Devanahalli, demand for property in Yelahanka is expected to increase in future.
